Background
Released in June 2023, the third generation of Amazon's Echo Buds are the budget alternative to the previous generation, with the biggest tradeoff being the lack of active noise cancellation. The 2023 model opts for a "semi-in-ear" design that doesn't completely seal outside noise; however, it does retain the solid sound quality and Alexa integration from the previous models.
The Amazon Echo Buds (2023) starts at $49.99 USD
Identification
The third generation of Echo Buds have a completely different form factor than its predecessor. The second generation had a thicker head that sits completely in the ear, while the third generation has the long "stem" that juts downward (eerily similar to the AirPods). Moreover, the third generation doesn't have the Amazon logo on the earbuds, and its charging case is more square shaped.
The Amazon Echo Buds (2023) comes in two colors: Black and Glacier White
