Background and Identification

The 2nd Generation Apple TV came three years after the introduction of the first generation model. Major changes to the new device include a much smaller outer case, HDMI output, and the ability to stream content wirelessly directly from a computer on the same network. Even though Apple emphasized the fact that there is no need to fiddle with data management with the new Apple TV, it included 8 GB of NAND flash memory, which led to speculation that Apple TV apps would soon be available.
