Background

Released in October of 2021 the Kindle Paperwhite 5 11th generation is the mid-level reading device from Amazon. With its glare free 6.8-inch touch screen with 300 PPI resolution and 16-level gray scale, it reads like paper even in bright sunlight. If reading at night is more your thing the adjustable warm light levels will give you options on the best light to read with. This version features waterproofing down to about 6.6 feet (2 meters) for 60 minutes, making simple spills or accidental water immersion of no concern.

Identification

The Kindle Paperwhite 5 11th generation has a slim portable form with only a screen, one button and one USB-C port on it. It only comes in one color, black. On the front is the screen and the word “kindle”, the back is has a plastic shell with the amazon swoosh debossed in the plastic.

The model number M2L3EK along with the safety certifications are lightly laser engraved in the bottom eighth of the casing.
