Introduction

Bought truck with blown head gasket and 352K+ miles. Puchased a long block assembly. And with some sweat and effort the truck runs great. I expect another 400K miles from it. Picture above is rplacement done. 2.4L Engine. I will add more info to this guide as time permits. this is just basic.

    • Disconnect drive shaft, engine mounts, and electrical harness. Extract motor.

    • Remove accesories from old block.

    • Clean and paint parts that will go onto new block. Assemble old and new parts onto new block. New parts added were water pump, fuel injectors, throttle body, and all electrical sensors.

    • Put motor in truck, change or add fluids as necessary. It's a good idea to replace all rubber hoses.
