Introduction

If your 2007 Honda Civic reverse light bulbs are not turning on when reversing use this guide to replace both of the reverse lights. This guide will require light bulbs that should be handled carefully to minimize risk of injury and to not reduce the life of the light bulbs.

    • Open the rear trunk and locate the reverse lights.

    • Insert a flathead screwdriver into the fastener.

    • Rotate the screwdriver counterclockwise until the fastener loosens.

    • Carefully remove the fastener.

    • Pull the lining away from the lights.

    • Carefully grasp the reverse light socket.

    • Make sure it is the correct socket; do not remove the other sockets, as those are your brake lights and turn signal lights.

    • Twist left to release the socket.

    • Slowly pull back from the socket to have access to the light socket.

    • Use a paper towel or rag to pull the socket back carefully and remove the light.

    • Do this for both sides when replacing the reverse lights.

    • Get your new reverse lights and install into each socket.

    • When installing, instead of pulling, push into the sockets and ensure they are locked in place.
