Introduction

Over time the battery life of you laptop can get shorter due to the battery wearing out. An old battery in your laptop can cause many problems such as not turning on or charging, or suddenly turning off. Replacing the battery on most laptops is a simple process that can extend the lifetime of your laptop.

    • Flip the laptop over so the model stickers face the ceiling.

    • Remove eleven 7mm Phillips #00 screws that secure the back cover.

    • Two screws are under the rubber pad.

    The screws around the back cover are T5 screws, and the 2 screws under the rubber pads are Phillips #0 screws

    • Using a spudger, carefully remove the back cover.

    • Remove the six 3mm Phillips #00 screws holding the battery in place.

    • Disconnect the battery wires from the motherboard by pulling on the black tab using a spudger or your hands.

    • Carefully lift the battery up and out of the laptop.
