Also, if the dirt isn't stored in the dirty water tank, the vacuum will not pick up any dirt. If there is a leak or clog in the filter, the vacuum will not properly clean.

Remove the dirty water tank from the main body of the vacuum by pushing down on the blue lever at the top of the dirty water tank.
