The Bissell Zing 2156A dust tank, also known as the dust canister or "bag," holds vacuumed material for easy disposal later on. This guide will tell you how take apart the dust tank and access the filter. The filter inside the dust tank naturally fills with dust and debris, and must be periodically cleaned or replaced. For full troubleshooting, refer to this guide. The filter can safely be disposed of with any other household trash.

Twist the top green lid clockwise while holding the main dirt tank assembly still.

Once the top green lid can no longer be rotated, remove it from the rest of the dirt tank assembly.

Rotate the filter assembly clockwise.

Once the filter assembly can no longer be rotated clockwise, remove it from the top lid of the dirt tank.

Slide the filter screen from the filter to remove it.

The screen can be washed, while the filter can be replaced.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
