Introduction

In this guide, we will be showing you how to remove and replace the Hard Drive.

    • CAUTION: Hard drives are fragile. Exercise care when handling the hard drive.

    • CAUTION: To avoid data loss, do not remove the hard drive while the computer is in sleep or on state.

    • Lift the latch and using the pull tab, disconnect the hard-drive cable from the system board.

    • Remove the screws that secure the hard-drive assembly to the palm rest and keyboard assembly.

    • Lift the hard-drive assembly along with its cable off the palm rest and keyboard assembly.

    • Disconnect the interposer from the hard-drive assembly.

    • Remove the screws that secure the hard-drive bracket to the hard drive.

    • Lift the hard drive off the hard-drive bracket.

    • Align the screw holes on the hard-drive bracket with the screw holes on the hard drive.

    • Replace the screws that secure the hard-drive bracket to the hard drive.
