Introduction

Use this guide to remove or replace the profile from within the return system assembly in a Dewalt DCN21PL 2018 Nailer.

    • Before you begin the repair, remove the battery from the device.

    • Use the provided 3.5 mm hex key to remove the two return system bolts on either side of the nailer.

    • Pull the end cap away from the nailer to remove the return system assembly.

    • Reassembly tip: make sure the rails slide into their correct guide holes.

    • Use your thumbs to pull the spring bumpers just far enough away from the rail clips so they aren't touching.

    • Use a large flathead screwdriver to slide the rail clip off of the tip of the rail.

    • Remove the rail clip.

    • Firmly grasp the spring bumper. Pull up while twisting to remove it from the rail.

    • Remove the spring bumper and accompanying washer.

    • Repeat Steps 4-6 for the other rail.

    • Pull both springs directly up off the rails to remove.

    • With the rails clear, the profile can now slide off. Pull the profile off the rails to remove.
