    • There are 14 screws around the side, and 9 in the middle for a total of 23 screws.

    • There are no screws hidden under the label or under feet

    • All screws are the same, and are very short so only a few turns for each

    • They all screw into the plastic top so don't give them too much force!

    • There are no plastic snaps. If the top doesn't come off after unscrewing, you forgot a screw (which is easy, given the amount of screws!)

    • The images are cropped by ifixit so sorry if the complete keyboard isn't in view...

So @krisrodriguez why did you do a zero-change update on this, to get 10% ownership? To pump up your statistics?

@peturdainn , The “zero-change” update reflects my role as the Community Manager to review and approve guides to ensure they meet our safety standards. This is part of my job—not an effort to “pump up statistics.” We are aware that this process could be clearer on the site, and I’m working with our development team to improve the user experience. In the meantime, please know that my priority is maintaining a safe and reliable resource for everyone.

It appears this is indeed the way approval works, and according to the iFixit account on Mastodon, the ownership indication would be a bug.

If this is the case, @krisrodriguez please accept my apologies, I hope the bug gets fixed because now every guide is co-authored by staff even when it is not. Which I found insulting.

    peturdainn -

@peturdainn, I completely understand, and there’s no need to apologize. You’ve highlighted something that could improve the UX, and I truly appreciate that—it benefits the entire Community. Thank you again for taking the time to reach out to us. In the future if you notice anything else unusual or worth investigating, please don’t hesitate to email me directly at community@ifixit.com. Thank you for everything you’re doing to support the Community.
