Introduction

Use this guide to replace the icemaker in your Frigidaire Side-By-Side Refrigerator.

The ice maker produces ice automatically. The ice produced is stored in the ice storage bin.

If the ice maker fails, no ice may be produced, the ice maker inlet may freeze and cause leaks, or the ice may not be properly harvested. In these cases, the ice maker will likely need replacement.

This guide was created using a Frigidaire model FFSS2614QS6A side-by-side refrigerator. Other side-by-side units should be similar.

    • Locate the ice maker connector near the back of the freezer.

    • Squeeze the release tabs on the connector to release it, and pull it out to disconnect it.

    • You may need to use two hands to do this, one on the rear half and one on the front half of the connector.

    • You can support the ice maker on the ice bin support if you need both hands to disconnect it.
