    • Unplug the AC adapter from the corresponding socket in the laptop.

    • Turn off your laptop before starting this procedure. Make sure it's not in sleep or hibernation mode.

    • Carefully slide the battery out of the laptop frame and place it somewhere safe.

    • Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, unscrew them all including the two screws found underneath the rubber feet.

    • Once all twelve screws are removed the disc drive can now be gently pulled out by hand.

    • Use a Jimmy to pry off the black backplate.

    • To release the RAM, hold and pull the strips outwards on either side of the RAM.
