Introduction

If the speakers on your HP Specter laptop are not working use this step by step guide to show you how to remove and replace them.

    • Use two opening tools, one on either side of the battery plug, to slowly pull the plug straight out of its port.

    • Alternatively, use your fingernails.

    • Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the six 2.5 mm screws securing the battery.

    • Carefully lift the edge of the battery with an opening tool.

    • Lift the battery up and out.

    • Remove the 3 mm Phillips screws on the speaker(s) you wish to replace.

    • Remove the two 2 mm Phillips #00 screws located under the battery.

    • Repeat for the other speaker if necessary.

    • Use a small pry tool to lift up and disconnect the speaker cable from the motherboard.
