Introduction

This guide is for users who are unfamiliar with disassembling the Dirt Devil Vacuum Cleaner model. This includes the basic steps on how to disassemble the vacuum model, clean the roller brush, and reassemble the vacuum. These simple instructions are for users who have a problem with the vacuum roller brush not spinning and want a quick repair on their own. The special requirement of this guide is to know how to loosen the screw on the bottom plate and tighten the screw.

    • Disassemble the vacuum head and pop out your roller brush.

I cannot disassembled ahead it seems to be stuck. How do I disassemble if I already took the screws off

    Claudia's Place -

There are four plastic clips at the front that were very stubborn for me. I'd recommend carefully walking a pick or other prying tool along the front seam between the two parts to try to release the clips.

    • Check if the belt is attached.

    • Check if the motor part is well inserted with the belt attached to the roller brush.

    • Make sure the shape of the motor fits to prevent it from falling.

There is a spot for the small circuit board to the left of the motor in this picture. The board should be slid into its spot.

Might be helpful if you showed where all 8 screws are seeing how I can only find 6 and cannot get it open!

in the front there are to wheels, pop them out and you will see the other 2 screws

There must be different versions. Mine has eight very obvious screws and looks like the one in the guide. The front was still stuck, and I thought there might be screws under the wheels, but there were not. There were four very stubborn plastic clips at the front. I ended up running a prying tool between the two parts and getting the clips free.

Obviously, the comment I'm replying to was from a long time ago, but maybe I can help someone else.

my power express lite only has 6 screws as well. I cannot get it open, I'm afraid it will break if I keep prying.

Can I hand wash the brushes and rollers.
