    • Make sure the drill press is turned off and the power cord is unplugged.

    • Loosen tension set screws (on both sides) and make sure tension pulling handle is pushed left.

    • Remove the v-band from the pulley.

    • Pull the center pulley towards the front, adding slack to the other v-band, and pull the pulley assembly up from the head.

    • The pulley contains 2 bearings separated with a spacing ring.

    • Using the bearing removal tool, pull out the first bearing.

    • Optionally, you can use a socket to tap out the second bearing. Make sure to use a socket that fits the outer ring of the bearing.

    • Pull out the second bearing with the bearing removal tool.

    • When pressing in the bearing, make sure the pressure is spread on the inside and outside ring of the bearing.

    • Place the first bearing on the pulley.

    • Press in the bearing to the bottom of the pulley.

    • When pressing in the axle, ensure that the bearings are not pressed out again by supporting the bearings.

    • Use a spacer that can hold in the bearing, but allow the axle to be pressed through.

    • You can 3D print such a spacer, or use the outer ring of the replaced bearing (ground down to prevent press fit).

    • Place the spacer.

    • Let the spacer push on something, a large socket for instance, and center it on the press.

    • Press in the axle until the retaining ring groove is above the bearing (and the retaining ring can be put back).

Conclusion

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
