Introduction

If your LG V50 ThinQ is experiencing several problems like apps crashing suddenly, unresponsive screen, lagging interface, and phone shutting down randomly, try the solutions shown on our troubleshooting page.

If restarting the phone, updating the software, or any other solutions do not work, your phone might need a new motherboard. Follow this guide to replace the motherboard for your phone. Make sure the device is powered off before replacing the motherboard.

LG V50 ThinQ Motherboard

Step 1

Flip the phone over, so that the back of the phone is facing you.
Using an opening pick, pry open the back cover of the phone by moving the opening pick along all sides to reveal the internal components.

Step 2

With the back side open, unscrew all the 1 mm Phillips #000 screws.
Remember to keep the screws in a safe place for reassembly later!

Step 3

Take out the two brackets that are covering the internal components.

Step 4

Remove the battery connection from its connector port, located above the battery.
Similarly, remove the screen connection from its connector port, found on the left side of the back of the device.
Pull up with tweezers on the dark orange cable to disconnect it.

Step 5

Disconnect the orange cable by pulling the connector piece up with your fingers
Pull up with tweezers on the end of the white wire to disconnect it from the motherboard
Using the metal spudger, pull up from below the motherboard at the top of the phone and near the battery to remove the motherboard from the phone.

Conclusion

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
