Introduction
This guide details how to replace the heat sink on a Lenovo IdeaPad Y700-15ACZ laptop. The heat sink's job is to remove heat generated by the CPU to prevent it from overheating. Before replacing a heat sink, test the new cooling fans and replace the thermal paste on the CPU. Thermal paste can dry out over time and limit a computer's ability to cool down.
