Introduction

    • The commonest fault is IF you knock or bend the lower half of the telescopic tube. Also if you are BRUTAL with the release button small parts of plastic can break off and lodge in the release mechanism to cause jams.

    • To repair fully prise top cover and button off gently flat screwdriver at non button end. Pull apart two haves of telescope tube (pull hard). Take out release mechanism, clean and service (tiny bit of oil). Replace lower half of mechanism in lower tube push both halves of tube together.

    • Place a TINY drop of glue on bottom of spring (the bit that goes in white plastic piece, let dry . Replace button replace both by gently pushing in to place on to clip on mechanism.

Conclusion

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

I fixed it! Thanks. A drop or two of WD40 oil sorted the sticking return mechanism, snap the cover back on - fixed.

For anyone who's wand was stuck in an extended position, I followed the instructions to remove the button cover and everything looked totally fine, so I put it back together, pushed the button down, and whacked the bottom of the wand against the floor to force the wand to collapse and now it works fine. YMMV lol
