Introduction

Changing the cabin air filter in your Nissan Kicks is a very simple procedure. It is recommended to change it every 30k miles or every year just to keep the air you and your passengers clean.

Before you begin the repair, be sure that your car is off and in park to avoid injury.

    • Remove the floor mat or any items in the passenger footwell of your car.

    • Use a trim tool on the inner panel beneath the glove box to release the clips and pry it out.

    • Place your hand on the far back of the panel to remove it.

    • It may require a hard tug to remove the panel.

    • Press the tab on the bottom of the filter lid to unlock it.

    • Open the lid and pull out the old filter.

    • You may want to wear gloves or a mask in case there is a lot of debris in the filter. (Especially if it's been a long time since you last changed the filter.)

    • Insert the new filter with the arrows oriented correctly.

    • Start at the top edge of the filter, then push in the bottom, followed by the rest of the filter.

    • The direction of the arrows for the newly installed filter is dependent on what filter you purchase.

    • The arrows indicate the direction of air flow.

    • Close the lid and push the bottom in until you hear it click.

    • Replace the panel back and press firmly in the middle and around the edges to ensure it is locked in.

    • Give the panel a light tug afterward to make sure it is secure.
