Introduction

If your RIDGID R2740 Belt Sander stops when applied to the work piece, is low on power, or making a squealing sound, the timing belt may be bad. This guide will show how to replace the timing belt in the RIDGID R2740 Belt Sander. You will need a Flathead screwdriver and a T20 screwdriver.

Hi Brian, all good except trying to source the belt itself. Many hours spent trying to purchase this belt. RIDGID is impossible to get ahold of them. There are some belts online but the spec is not complete enough - that is there are so many variations per tooth profile it is hard to know what is actually being purchases.
