Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer Lint Filter Replacement

Introduction

After long term use of the Revlon One-Step Hair dryer, the filter may become blocked with debris which could result in limited airflow. Therefore, this guide will help users to replace the lint filter.

Tools

Step 1

First, remove the pink panels on each side of the handle in order to access the screws.
Use the iFixit opening tool to remove the pink panels.

You don't actually have to take these off. Why not just start on step 4 and 5, then do step 1? That way the top of the panel can be popped out to get the top screw, and the rest of the panel will come off without breaking the flaps

Step 2

After removing the pink panels, there will be one visible screw on each side of the dryer handle measuring at 11mm.
Carefully unscrew both of these screws with a tri-point Y000 screwdriver.
Next, completely remove the screws out of the dryer handle.

Step 3

Remove the barrel by twisting and pulling it away from the handle of the dryer.
Before attempting to take the barrel off, make sure the dryer powered completely off and is cool to the touch.

I was only able to remove the brush after I used a flathead to pull the main black pieces on the handle away from the brush. These black pieces lock the brush into place.

Next, slide down the air inlet and the setting dial to reveal the 11mm screws on each side of the handle at the bottom of the hair dryer.

I can't slide down the air inlet, it is fixed somehow. I can rotate it as much as the setting dial but no more. Any ideas?

I used an adjustable plier to firmly grab the solid portion of the air inlet closer to the power cord, and twisted it counterclockwise until it clicked, then slide out

There will be one visible screw on each side of the dryer at the bottom of the handle, measuring at 11mm.
Carefully unscrew both of these screws with a tri-point Y000 screwdriver.
Store screws in a safe place, you will need them to reassemble the device later.

Step 6

Place the iFixit opening tool along the seams of the handle and pry the two pieces apart.

Step 7

Once you have exposed the inside of the dryer, you will see a clear port at the very end where the cord is connected and plugged into.
Now, with your thumb and pointer finger gently pinch the top and bottom of the clear port.
Next with your free hand carefully pull the cord out of the port of the dryer handle.
