Introduction
Use this guide to replace the inverter board on your Samsung older French door refrigerator.
The inverter board is located in the small covered compartment on the rear of the refrigerator above the machinery compartment.
The inverter board is the main motor control interface for the compressor. It provides the proper electrical current to run the compressor at variable speeds for best efficiency. The main control board sends signals to the inverter board to set the compressor speed and run time.
If the inverter board fails the compressor will either not run at all or run poorly. The refrigerator will not be able to properly maintain internal temperatures.
This guide was created using a Samsung model RFG298HDRS French door refrigerator manufactured in 2013. Other older Samsung French door units with dual evaporators should be similar.
