Introduction

Over time, one of the speakers in the Sony WH-CH520 headphones may become damaged through typical wear and tear. If this happens, the options for repair are constrained to replacing the speaker itself. If this is the case follow this guide to replace one of the speakers. To successfully complete this guide you will need amateur-level skills in soldering.

    • Use a soldering iron to desolder the two connections where the exposed wires meet the speaker contact.

    • Pull the wire away from the speaker to remove it while the solder melts. Do this for both wires.

    • Disconnect the wires from the speaker driver, and you will be able to replace the old driver with the new one using the same wires.

Conclusion

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
