Introduction

If your bulb in your Whirlpool dryer WED4950HW0 has gone out, use this guide to assist with replacing. Before using this guide, make sure to find where the bulb is in the back of the dryer. Two steps in this guide require using a ratchet wrench, so make sure that you know how to properly use one.

    • Unplug the dryer from the wall outlet.

    • Remove the screw holding on the lens cover with a 1/4" ratchet wrench by turning it counter clockwise.

    • Take the lens cover off.

    • Remove the faulty bulb by turning the bulb counter clockwise.

    • Replace the bulb with a 10W appliance bulb.

    • Ensure it is durable to withstand high temperatures in order to prevent breakage.

    • Turn the bulb clockwise and ensure that it is secure.

    • Place the lens cover back on.

    • Reinsert the screw and use the ratchet wrench to tighten it.
