Introduction

This teardown will show the hardware that makes up particular functions and sub-functions of a portable phone/tablet charger.

    • No screwdriver needed

    • Use spudger to pry apart the pieces. There are small clips that will snap apart when enough force is applied

    • Battery is attached to casing with tape. It can be easily peeled off.

    • The solar panel is attached to the casing with hot glue. This will require peeling off the glue until the panel can be removed

    • Remove the tape protecting the battery terminals to uncover the battery charging circuitry.

    • The wires connecting the battery to the main circuit board (red and white) should be disconnected before attempting to take parts off the main circuit board. All functionality will cease at this point.

    • The red and white wires can be disconnected (de-soldered) at the battery or at the main circuit board.
