Introduction
Hiya There! My name is Emily Arana Barcala and I am a junior at UC Davis. I'm passionate about innovating medicine and patient care through the power of engineering!
Education
Major: Biomedical Engineering
I chose this major because I really enjoy the intersectionality of technology and medicine, especially with how it pertains to medical devices. I believe that Biomedical Engineering is the future of medicine! It's a very innovative and challenging field.
Aspirations
When I grow up I hope to become a Biomedical Engineering/Physician. I love the two worlds of patient care and medical device design. I don't think I could choose just to do one and not the other, which is why I hope to find a career that will satisfy my interest in both.
Hobbies
I love to visit my family members who are abroad. This past March I had the chance to travel to Guatemala and even saw the Pyramids of Tikal in Peten, Guatemala.
Fun Fact
I love nature and pets! I have a street cat in my neighborhood who loves back scratches and I can't forget my pup Luna (who I adore!). Here are some pictures of them!
