Hello there! My name is Erick Nava and I am a Computer Science Undergraduate student at California State Los Angeles. I am the oldest of 3 siblings and am single. I am a born and raised Angelino.
Growing up with my father who was a mechanic and handyman showed me a world of taking things apart and learning how to fix things. I remember one of the first decent-sized projects I did with him. We were going to fix a very old washing machine. I watched my father take the whole thing apart and learn how it worked without any instructions. My father impressed me that day and made me look to him and be a handyman like him. Although we ended up fixing the project it would have gone way smoother if we had a set of instructions.
As a computer scientist, I love learning about computer languages and how to program applications. Although I am fairly new I have programmed a few games and
have solved many programming challenges. Here is a picture of me explaining my way through a coding problem to a class. Ever since I learned how to draw pictures on a Macintosh running AppleSoft basic at school, as a child, I knew what I wanted to do as an adult. Now after working a few manual labor jobs to save up the money to come back to school, I like learning to program and am excited to do so every. I love the feeling you get when you finally solve a complicated problem. Ever since childhood, I have been into sci-fi movies and anything futuristic. I think the noblest thing to do is move humanity forward technologically for the betterment of mankind.
