My name is Andy Rich. I am a sophomore in the software engineering department at Utah Tech University. I am striving to finish the program and land a job in a field that allows me to improve the lives of those around me. The most important people around me are my family. I have a big family who drive me crazy and keep me busy, but I wouldn't want it any other way.
One of my professional goals is to start and run my non-profit to help and serve my community. The idea of using my skills to help the ones I love or those around me is a driving force in my life. That is why STEM degrees tend to appeal to me more than other degrees because it is apparent how those skills apply to daily life.
I also strive to get the most out of every day. Some ways I do that are surfing, snowboarding, and spending as much time as possible outside. A typical weekend for me would consist of getting friends together and playing some sport. I love basketball, soccer, spike ball, basically anything that is played with a ball and I'm there. Since I live in the desert, being in the water is crucial to enjoying the hot summers. As a result, I spend a lot of time swimming, boating, or playing in the river.
I don't have an abundance of repair experience, however, I enjoy tinkering with objects to figure out how they work. I am good at taking things apart now I am trying to improve my skill in putting them back together.
