Hello, my name is David Beltran Heredia. I am a GateWay Community College student and member of the YearUp program. I currently have aspirations to graduate in order to get into the I.T field. More specifically, getting into I.T help desk and then continuing my education until I get into cyber security, which is my ultimate goal.
I still remember owning my first gaming console that my parents bought for me. It was a PlayStation 2, and that was when my interest in technology started. I wondered how a disc just spins around inside of this console and allows for the information on the disc to be read to provide a game that I could play and interact with. We then received our computer and I would go messing in the settings and the specs of the computer in order to try understanding what makes it work. After research into the I.T field, I found cyber security to be the most interesting thing to me and the major I want to pursue in.
Experience
I currently have no experience repairing anything yet, but I have some experience helping my friend build a PC and learning about the components inside a computer. With the upcoming project, I hope to gain skills and knowledge that ifixit has to offer, and in return, contribute back by presenting a guide users can discover and find useful.
Hobbies
My hobbies consist of video games, sports like soccer and basketball, and spending time with those close to me like family, friends, pets, and occasionally some time to myself. My favorite sports team is one from Spain called Real Madrid.
