Hello! I am Shishi Hu, a current sophomore at UMass Dartmouth. I am a CIS major. I chose this major because when I taught myself coding the summer before college, I realized that CS was fun and much more useful than what I was pursuing at the time. In the future, I hope to be a backend software developer and help produce more innovative software. I am proficient in Java, Python, C, CSS, HTML, and JavaScript. I have used these languages to develop simple games such as Tic-Tac-Toe and Snake Game.
In my free time, I prefer to read, cook, bake, and draw. I recently even picked up crocheting, and I have been making scarves and stuffed strawberries in my free time. Recently, I have also been experimenting with baking breads and sweets. Although sometimes they fail, it will always turn out better the second time I attempt to make it.
In the past, I have even won awards for my art, with the most recent and prominent one being the VSA Emerging Young Artists 2022: MERGE event.
The art I submitted for this contest was a 3D piece of wires and lights mixed with a pastel portrait.
