Hi! I am an undergraduate student at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and a member of the Honors College. I am a pre-med majoring in Bioengineering. Since I was a kid, I have always been drawn to the study of Endocrinology and treating type 1 diabetes, as my brother and I both have been diagnosed with it in our childhood. Bioengineering offers a variety of possible paths, so I favored it over the traditional biology pre-medical route. I am also considering working on medical devices if I choose not to become a practicing physician. Companies like Medtronic, Dexcom, and Tandem have recently released new technology that holds promising new developments for the future that I would love to become a part of. I'm open to having my career path change as I complete my studies. This project holds many personal benefits in terms of what, on a smaller scale, working with medical devices and troubleshooting issues with them may look like. Despite not having any real prior repair experience, I am optimistic. Other than my academic aspirations, I have hobbies in art, such as oil painting, drawing, and knitting. I often do all these things in the company of my cat Dusty. This semester I have also proposed a research project that studies the effects of supplemental vitamin D3 on the immune systems of Zebrafish with melanoma cancer.
