Hi! My name is Miles; I am a sophomore majoring in Biomedical Engineering at the University of California, Davis, and I am on track to graduate in the Spring of 2026.

My interest in engineering began in High School. I was initially interested in biology, as I was intrigued by learning how the body worked and why things functioned the way they did. During the Covid-19 pandemic, my curiosity about medical devices peaked. In turn, my interests gravitated towards Biomedical Engineering. In this field, I could learn about why the body functions a certain way and how we could fix or manipulate these functions given a situation. As a biomedical engineer, I hope to contribute to future medical device research and development. However, I am open to branching out to other research within the biomedical field.

Regarding repair experience, I have not had many opportunities to fix anything significant yet. At most, I have helped my parents replace light bulbs and grease traps in the kitchen, considered common household fixes. I hope to learn how to repair jammed doors, broken toasters, or car batteries. These are all important fixes and will be required once I begin to live independently. Learning these repairs would save me money in the future and would be worthwhile.
