Good Day!
Hey everybody, my name is Justin Jordan and I'm currently enrolled at the University of North Texas for two 5week1 courses. I'm looking forward to sharpening my writing skills in the Technical Writing course.
About me:
I'm an Army Veteran who served overseas in; Germany, South Korea, Kuwait and Iraq. Serving in the military allowed me to become a more structured individual and pave the way for me to succeed physically and mentally. I currently work full-time for a local municipality in the DFW area and pursuing my Bachelors of Applied Arts and Science degree in Geography and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) at the University of North Texas. Go Mean Green!
The GIS field is an extraordinary area that can record data past, present, and future. Not only can GIS be utilized for traditional map referencing like topography goes but even asset management to document the smallest assets to even some of the largest within an organization.
I plan to use this degree in furthering my knowledge in GIS and continue to help my community.
Hobby and Passion
A little bit more about me is that I'm a full-time Dad and help coach both of my kids baseball and softball teams.
I would definitely say this falls into the category of a hobby for me since I really enjoy the sports all around. From watching it, playing it or even training for it. Watching them grow and develop into awesome players and teammates is incredible. I appreciate these moments I have with them and hope they'll remember it forever.
The time I get to spend developing them allow me to escape everyday concerns that may arise and becomes a sort of reset button or decompression exercise for me.
I have to mention my favorite quote; "Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose." - Friday Night Lights, Movie
