Sofiya Khan

Hello! My name is Sofiya Khan and I’m a freshmen at the University of North Texas (UNT). I'm majoring in Computer Science and I'm an Undergraduate student .

I chose Computer Science as my major because I am passionate about technology and problem-solving. The field offers endless opportunities for innovation and creativity, and I’m excited to develop skills that can drive technological advancements and make a meaningful impact.

Although currently, I have no experience in repairing stuff, engaging with iFixit can boost my skills and knowledge level to a great extent. Hands-on repairing will improve my technical competencies, but most importantly, it would increase my knowledge of hardware, which becomes so crucial when it comes to my major.

I always wanted to open smartphones and laptop during my young age as well as now ,so I'm looking forward to repair or open up those things that I always wanted to do .

I'm currently a member of -

• Computer Science Engineering Club (CSE)
• Ambitious Involved and Motivated Student (AIM) cub
• Women's in Computers (WIC) organization

I'm also planning to join some hardware or fixing thing club . Similar to what we'll do in iFixit .

During my High School I wasn't involved in any clubs and organization , but I'm trying my best to get involved in here .

I haven't done any big projects , but I know how to work on Snap Berkely , Scratch . During my High school we made lots of programs and games . I took AP Computer Science Principles and in it we used Snap Berkely and we made games by coding in it .

I love to bake during my free time . In future times I have thought that if I can start my small business in baking I would start it .I have also taken Culinary Class in my high school .

I am Indian , so I know to speak some of the languages that are spoken in India.I also like to read books ,my current favorite book is Atomic Habits . I use to play tennis in High school but here I'm not into tennis this year , but I'm planning to play tennis next year .
