My full name is Isaiah James Eagle. I'm a sophomore at California State University Los Angeles majoring in Mechanical Engineering, focusing on aerospace. I'm aiming for a career at NASA, though being an independent contractor is another possibility. I'm very ambitious, creative, and great at teaching myself without needing my hand held.
I'm a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Society of Automotive Engineers. I've also recently participated in a team on the Battery Workforce Challenge, designing, building, and testing a Stellantis vehicle.
My father, a former nuke for the U.S. Navy, always preferred to get his hands dirty and fix problems himself. Since the age of 5, I've been helping him with plumbing, wiring, gardening, car tune-ups, you name it. Our garage was a mess before we built a shed to organize everything neatly. I built the desk I'm writing this profile on. The most annoying job was fixing my computer since I had to deal with the hardware and software. Once, it erased every file and desktop icon for seemingly no reason.
I love music and have had to repair a record player, but never a karaoke machine. This will be tough, but I'm always looking for a challenge. My ideal evening is sitting by an open fire, drinking hot cocoa, and reading a thought-provoking sci-fi book.
