Hello, I am Shawn Detiveaux a student at Austin Community College. My major is Software Engineering.

I chose software engineering because it is a skillset I lack. I have several certs for hardware and networking (Comptia A+,Comptia Network+, and Comptia Security+) but lack practical skills in programming and that side of computer science.

I hope to eventually be able to be a developer for a company that develops C4ISR software for the US military. That software is Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance.

Skills I have include troubleshooting and repair. I have troubleshot at both of my last positions. One being a weapons repairer in the US Army and the other being helpdesk/ deskside support site lead at my previous job. In the Army I also cross-trained to fix radios and night vision goggles(NVGs). Lots of soldering was involved with that.

build my own computers from the ground up part by part. I have done this since middle school. I enjoy figuring out the interoperability of hardware and figuring out how to make things work even better together.

I have repaired several things over the course of my life. The biggest most recent one is a 2 in one clothing washer and dryer which I had to replace a pump in after taking it entirely apart to allow this. Other than the radios and NVGs listed above I have not done too many repairs on tech. Mostly weapons anywhere from handguns to 50. caliber machine guns and even artillery.

My primary hobby is gaming. I enjoy playing games that either require tactical knowledge and teamwork or building systems to produce whatever the required materials may be.

This project relates to me by allowing me to showcase skills I have developed previously and practice my documentation ability.

I have one giant dog (German Shepard X Great Pyrenes) who thinks he is a lapdog. His name is Maximillian and he is also special needs.
