About Me

Hello! My name is Maria Sandlin, an aspiring technical writer with a deep passion for clear and effective communication. My journey began at UT Arlington as a first-generation student, where I earned my BA in English while working full-time to support both myself and my family.

Currently, I am pursuing a Certificate in Technical Writing from the University of North Texas. My academic journey has equipped me with a solid foundation in technical communication principles, including audience analysis, information design, and document usability. Through coursework and hands-on projects, I’ve gained experience in creating various types of technical documentation, from instructional manuals to marketing materials.

I have zero experience with repairs. I tend to replace broken items instead of fixing them, which not only costs me money but also adds to landfill waste. Starting this project has made me reconsider my habits and inspired me to make a change.

Hobbies and Interests

I feel happiest when spending time with my family. My husband and I especially enjoy vacationing in Big Bend, TX, though we haven’t taken our daughter yet. Once she’s older, we plan to share our passion for stargazing there with her, and we hope to turn it into a yearly family tradition.
