Gabriel Horton

Gabriel Horton is a senior at the University of Oklahoma, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. His passion for technology was ignited at an early age through coding and building computers, a fascination that has transformed into a rigorous academic journey. His passion for building new things and fixing various electronics was captivated by the technical field in Computer Engineering. Over the past few years, Gabriel has immersed himself in coursework that includes microprocessor design, circuitry, and signal analysis, deepening his understanding of both hardware and software principles.

Upon graduating from the University of Oklahoma in Fall 2025, Gabriel aims to work in electrical hardware, specifically focusing on the development of computer chips in a vibrant urban environment. His technical proficiency encompasses programming languages such as Python, C++, and Java, along with essential software tools like EAGLE, MATLAB, CircuitCAD, and MultiSim. These skills are not only critical to his studies but also position him for success in the competitive field of computer engineering.

Gabriel has maintained a 3.2 GPA while balancing a range of extracurricular activities. He is actively involved in Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, where he serves as Housing Manager, overseeing various housing projects and managing budgets for improvements. His leadership experience also extends to OU Camp Crimson, where he guided new students, helping them acclimate to university life.

In addition to his academic and extracurricular commitments, Gabriel has gained valuable work experience in both the food and hospitality sectors, fostering strong customer service skills. He has also participated in volunteer events in Frisco, Texas, and Oklahoma City, demonstrating his commitment to community engagement. He also enjoys learning how to repair things around the house ranging from plumbing, electrical work, and carpentry and the stereo system on his car. Outside of his professional pursuits, Gabriel enjoys spending time outdoors, particularly fishing and golfing.
