Hello! My name is Hunter Kysela. After earning my Associate in Biology from Oklahoma City Community College, I transferred to the University of Oklahoma, where I am currently pursuing a Bachelor in Environmental Science. My passion for the environment began at a young age while hunting with my father. He instilled in me a deep appreciation for nature and its conservation. I chose this field because I am passionate about protecting and conserving our natural resources for future generations. After graduating I intend to work in the water quality industry.
Growing up on a small farm, I gained hands-on experience repairing and maintaining a variety of equipment. Some of my repair work includes welding broken trailer hitches, replacing fence posts and wire, and fixing mechanical issues on trucks and tractors. My most notable repair experience involved straightening the frame of an ATV after our bull pushed it into the creek. These experiences have taught me valuable skills such as problem-solving and attention to detail.

I am excited to be working on the iFixit project as it closely aligns with my interests in sustainability and resource conservation. This project allows me to apply my repair skills while contributing to a more sustainable society. I believe that promoting repair over replacement is an essential part of reducing waste and conserving resources, and I am eager to be a part of this initiative.
In my spare time, I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, and hunting. When the weather is unfavorable, I like to stay inside and watch movies. I also enjoy traveling and visiting national parks with my family.
