Major: Mechanical Engineering

Hello, my name is Callie Ann Brigance. I am in Mechanical Engineering, because I am very hands-on and greatly admire my older brother who is also a Mechanical Engineer and graduated from the UofM, he has been my role model ever since I was little.

I am a very creative and hardworking individual who is always thinking outside the box when faced with a challenge. I am willing to try and adapt if a situation calls for it, and unafraid to step up and take charge when others are unable to or afraid to.

I enjoy creating art in my spare time, especially painting and drawing. I also enjoy building complex lego sets, especially the technic and botanical sets since they have much more complex parts and connections to consider. I often call myself "IT Support," since I often assist my mom and others around me with technical issues and fix devices when they act up, so I'm very tech savvy, however, I do not particularly enjoy writing code.

This acrylic painting on the left is a gift I made for my mom a few Christmases ago, having spent days on it, painting for hours and hours each day. Had I not spent so long working on it each day, it likely would have taken weeks.

On the right is a wooden clock I built in my spare time. I am quite fond of wooden puzzles that allow me to build something from the ground up, and this was by far one of my favorites.

A little fun fact about me is that I built and installed the glass storm door at my house with a screen you can open and close with a lockable latch and hydraulics that are adjustable to change the speed at which the door closes behind you.
