Howdy. My name is Cooper and I go to Austin Community College for Geographical Information Systems (GIS).
Since I was small, I have always enjoyed studying maps and exploring my surroundings and the world. I'd enjoy making fictional maps growing up and could spend hours just exploring on Google Maps. Since GIS blends field work with cartography and spatial data, I'm excited to see what my future holds and the opportunities GIS brings. I would be ecstatic to work for USGS, TPWD, or LCRA. Or anywhere that pays to be honest.
Here is a photo of my restored 1980's Jamis Boss Cruiser. I found it left in a field and after multiple days of it sitting in the same place I decided to rescue it and give it new life. Thankfully there was no internal frame rust. However, most parts were starting to rust and were broken. I had to take it completely apart, clean each individual piece, and put it back together. Converted to single-speed, it has become my go-to bike for cruising near my home. I really value bikes for the freedom they provide to the user, you can take them almost anywhere and you can use them over and over and over.
This next photo is of a gate I put together myself. It isn't perfect, but it does work. I made it to replace our old gate, which was broken, inoperable, and in pieces. It was my first real woodworking project and although it's missing a handle, it works just as it should. I used reclaimed 2x4s from another fence I took down. Considering I made it and put it together without help, I'm pretty proud of myself.
