My name is Jonathan Ruvalcaba, and I am currently pursing a degree in Mechanical Engineering at California State University, Los Angeles. I grew up in West Adams and have been living here ever since.
Since I was young, I've always had a deep passion for cars. I was fascinated by everything about them--the designs, the power, and the overall sound they made. Whether it was watching my dad work on his car or watching cars on the street, I was amazed by the engineering behind them. As I grew older, I realized this was something I wanted to build my career around. That’s what inspired me to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering in CSULA. Mechanical engineering is the perfect field for me because it combines my passion for cars with a deeper understanding of the mechanics and technology behind them.
I have one year of experience using SolidWorks, allowing me to create 3D designs. With six years of hands-on automotive experience, I have developed a deep understanding of vehicle systems and mechanics (such as the engine, transmission, suspension, etc.) As a bilingual fluent in both English and Spanish, I can effectively communicate in different environments. My strong attention to detail ensures that all work is completed accurately, and I have also honed my communication to explain different concepts clearly to others. As I continue with my career, I look forward to gaining valuable skills that will help me grow.
