My name is Helen Cordova Mendez, a third year at the University of California, Davis as a Design Major. As a Design student, my focus is on Graphic Design and using it towards advertising and promotion.
Within the past few years, I have been able to learn more about myself and what skills I am capable of through a variety of outside projects and through my classes. A few programs I am knowledgeable about are Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Affects and the Procreate app. I have been able to complete a series of University related projects and personal projects through these programs.
I have been able to use these skills especially in the university clubs I participate in. From making weekly meeting posters to event posters, I have been able to play around with a series of tools and themes. In one club in particular, I have worked as the social media manager and then president where I still work on our social media. This lead my club and I to have the opportunity to work with 1824, a sub group to Universal Music Group in promoting a new album. This led me to improve my skills even more with getting a background view to music promotion.
