Background
Released in August 2018, the Sony WF-1000XM3 earbuds are marketed as high-end, stylish earbuds with industry-leading noise cancellation. Although outclassed by its successor, the WF-1000XM4, the WF-1000XM3 offers hands free calls, a touch panel for on-ear controls, and digital upscaling for compressed music files.
The Sony WF-1000XM3 earbuds range between $120–$205 USD. A known issue of these earbuds is that due to Windows' Power Saving Feature, when connected to a PC they disconnect after 30 seconds to 1 minute of no sound. Therefore, every time they disconnect, they need to be manually reconnected.
Identification
The Sony WF-1000XM3 uses its model number in its name: WF-1000XM3. The model number is printed inside of the lid's hinge. These earbuds have a "bucket-shaped" charging case with the copper colored lid. The earbuds themselves are pill-shaped and have a small socket set screw in the center of them next to the Sony logo.
The Sony WF-1000XM3 earbuds come in two colors: Black and Platinum Silver
